These photos and stories brought back alot of good memories of the time I spent in Stavanger working for ODECO from 1968-1972. I retired in 1989 and currently live with my second wife, Claire in a little beach front town just 45 minutes East of New Orleans, Louisiana~USA. I stay in contact with the retirees in the New Orleans area by assisting with the quarterly ODECO Retirees Luncheon that includes approximately 35-40 of us "oiltimers" that are still around (we particularly enjoyed seeing Sigve Soeyland at one of our luncheons when he visited Don Stevens a couple of years ago). Thank you for sending me the site. "Hats off" to all that worked on getting it together. Anyone planning on visiting in our area...please feel free to contact us! The sale was completed on the 17th December, 2002 and the rig has been renamed the “Ocean Vanguard”. Diamond Offshore is in the process of establishing a branch office in Stavanger and the Company intends to actively market the “Ocean Vanguard” in Norwegian waters. We are delighted to be back operating in Norway once again. Coming from a "younger" generation your site has proved to be very interesting and informative.
